Cathy Gordon
Cathy has been an OADG director since December, 2003. She has served as Banquet Director and the Trillium Dressage Championship East Show Secretary. Cathy is currently the Treasurer and Education Director. Cathy has been a passionate horse lover since childhood. With financing from part-time jobs, Cathy bought her first horse, “Sovereign Lord” (aka “Niki”), a retired race horse, while attending university. Cathy evented Niki and showed him in the hunter division in Hudson and areas around Montreal, Quebec. The dressage element of eventing captured Cathy’s interest, as it enhances the partnership with one’s horse, while improving the horse’s general condition. Cathy and Niki moved to Ottawa in 1973. After marriage to Bruce, they bought their first hobby farm north of Perth in 1978 where Niki was retired. While busy raising 3 children, Cathy kept her hand in the horse business by breeding horses. Cathy and Bruce moved to their current hobby farm near Carleton Place in 1985, which is home to 3 retired horses and one donkey, “Gilly Flower”. Cathy bought “Winzertanz”, a beautiful chestnut Hannovarian, as a 2 year old in 2003, and enjoys training him in dressage. It has been a privilege to work with such wonderful animals over the years.
