Other Donations
For the past several years, OADG has supported and encouraged members to support two local funds. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations.
The Lauren DiIanini Memorial Fund was established in 1994 to honour the memory of a great supporter of dressage. Lauren believed that the liveliness and beauty of freestyle tests would attract spectators and sponsors to our sport. The fund therefore promotes excellence in freestyle competition through annual cash prizes at the National level. For information on applying for this award please consult the Dressage Canada Awards Program. For further information, please contact Joan Johnston or Joanna Crilly at (613) 489-3257.
The Dr. Brian Mills Awards Fund was created in 1997 to encourage juniors and Young Riders to participate in dressage competitions at local and national/international levels. It is named in honour of Dr. Brian Mills, an equine veterinarian, who grew up in North Gower and established a thriving practice throughout eastern Ontario with a clinic based in Navan. He passed away in 1996 and this award is meant to carry on his love of dressage, horses, and youth. For further information, please contact Dr. William Mills, (613) 835-9217.
