Recognition for riders, horses, and volunteers in the Ottawa Dressage community. See below for requirements, deadlines, and award categories.
Critical Requirements
Basic qualification requirements
To qualify for OADG awards, you need:
- Three (3) qualifying scores of 50% or higher
- From 3 different shows
- Competed at 2 different locations (Exception: Schooling circuit allows 1 location; Virtual does not use locations)
- Judged by 2 different judges
- Both rider and owner must be current OADG members
Important: Scores only count after you renew your membership. Renew by April 1st or before your first show.
Timeline & Checklist
Follow this simple season-long checklist to stay on track:
Early Season
Mid-Season
- Confirm you and your horse owner are OADG members (renew by April 1st)
- Decide which circuit(s) you'll compete in
- Want to form a team? Submit Team Challenge form by April 1
- Plan to compete at 3+ shows with 2+ different judges at 2 or more locations
- CHECK YOUR SCORES when published — verify names are spelled correctly!
- Report any errors to awards@ottawadressage.ca immediately
- Ensure you're on track for 3 qualifying scores (50%+)
Late Season
Season End
- Make sure you have 3 qualifying scores from 3 shows, 2 locations, 2 judges
- If competing outside Ottawa, submit external score form (1 score allowed)
- Submit all forms by deadline
- FINAL SCORE CHECK — last chance to report errors!
- Submit all remaining forms by deadline
- Celebrate at the Awards Banquet!

Team Challenge Award
Celebrates teams of three or more riders competing together across OADG circuits.
Deadline: June 1, 2026
Volunteer of the Year Award
Honors OADG members who contribute exceptional volunteer service to the organization.
Deadline: October 13, 2026
Horse Owner of the Year Award
Celebrates outstanding horse owners who support their riders and the dressage community.
Deadline: October 13, 2026
Madison Crich Memorial Award
Honors the memory of Madison Crich with an award recognizing commitment to dressage excellence.
Deadline: October 13, 2026
PeeWee Rider Award
Celebrates young riders (12 and under) achieving excellence in dressage.
Deadline: October 16, 2026
Senior Rider Award
Honors riders aged 50+ achieving excellence in dressage competition.
Deadline: October 16, 2026
Paraequestrian Rider Award
Celebrates riders with physical disabilities competing in adaptive dressage.
Deadline: October 16, 2026
Young Horse Award
Honors developing horses (6–7 years old) showing promise and achievement in competition.

CDI Achievement Award
Celebrates OADG members achieving significant success at FEI/CDI competitions.

External Scores Submission
For riders with one qualifying score from shows outside the Ottawa region. One external score may count toward your three qualifying scores.
