Your horse isn't the only one who needs to be supple, balanced, and breathing properly. On Saturday, June 27, the Ottawa Area Dressage Group is hosting Collected: Yoga for Dressage Riders — a one-hour session designed specifically for equestrian athletes, led by instructor Sabrina Hidiroglou.
Why Yoga? Why Now?
Dressage asks a lot of your body. Hip flexibility for that deep, following seat. Core stability to stay quiet and upright. Breath control so you're not holding tension your horse can feel. Mind-body awareness so your aids are intentional rather than reactive.
Yoga trains all of it — and Sabrina's session is built with exactly these demands in mind. Whether you're working towards your first show or your Prix St. Georges, an hour on the mat is an investment that pays off in the saddle.
What to Expect
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

No yoga experience required — just show up ready to move. Mats and blocks will be available on-site, but bring your own if you have one. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, and know that change rooms and a water fountain are available.
Stay for the Social
After the session, the group is heading next door to Browns Socialhouse Barrhaven (right in the same plaza) for refreshments and good company. If you'd like to join, email OttawaAreaDressageGroup@gmail.com so we can add you to the reservation.
